Description
WOODWARD 8440-1978 is a DSLC-2™ Digital Synchronizer and Load Control module for managing synchronization, load sharing, and VAR/power factor control across complex power systems with up to 32 generators and 8 bus segments.
Features
Supports automatic synchronizing with slip frequency or phase matching, bump-less loading/unloading, dead bus closing, and isochronous load sharing. Enables base load, process control, and VAR/power factor regulation. Features redundant Ethernet communication (two ports), RS-485 and RS-232 interfaces, Modbus TCP/RTU support, and seamless integration with PLC/DCS. Allows system updates for adding or removing generator sets. Compatible with MSLC-2 for expanded power management.
